Wastebusters, in collaboration with One New Zealand and Better Building Wanaka, have received funding from QLDC’s Waste Minimisation Community Fund to work with the construction industry to divert materials from landfill.

Almost 60 tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) material is dumped at Wanaka Transfer Station every week. That’s a huge amount of reusable material being thrown out every year.

Nobody likes seeing good material being dumped. The good news is, it doesn’t have to be. With marketplace app CivilShare, reusable material can be traded instead of tossed.

We’re bringing CivilShare to Wanaka to help builders and tradies save stuff from landfill. The app is specifically designed for the construction industry and makes it easy for users to sell or give away surplus or ex demo material instead of throwing it out.

You don’t have to be a builder to sign up. If you have a DIY project coming up look on CivilShare for material first.
