Wastebusters is taking over Wao’s Green Drinks to celebrate Plastic Free July 2023!
Join us after hours in the Wastebusters shop for conversations, connections, tasty treats and delicious drinks as we explore what is being done locally to combat plastic pollution, and options we have as individuals to make small changes with a big difference.
Veronica Rotman and Jose Cranfield from WAI Wānaka will be joining us to discuss their latest research project. WAI’s aim is to gain a better understanding of plastic pollution in our local lakes and rivers while bringing our community together to drive meaningful change and innovative solutions.
The Wasties crew will be sharing their favourite tips and tricks on reducing single-use plastics. This is going to be a hands on Green Drinks where we’ll have different stations set up for you to get stuck in on making your own top swaps such as;
🍏Reusable produce bags
We’ll also be throwing in a cheeky pop quiz with Wasties vouchers up for grabs and a window of opportunity for some exclusive after hours shopping.
And if that’s not enough, we’ve decided to try out a container swap: you know those containers that lost their lids, or those lids that lost their containers, that you’ve been holding onto in the hopes they’ll magically reunite? Bring them along to see if together we can reunite them in order to keep reusing them!
Tickets are limited, so book your space at Humanitix.
This event is funded by the QLDC Zero Waste District Programme.
