It’s that time of year. Feel the heat. Go for the glory. The Wanaka Wastebusters Annual Wheelie Bin Race this year has a Rugby World Cup theme – so get your running shoes ready and we’ll be there with the bins.
Saturday October 22nd, 1.30pm-2.30pm
Pembroke Park, Wanaka
Junior races (School years 3-9) – just turn up on the day, free entry.
Workplace teams – please choose a rugby world cup team to support and register before the event via email to scotty@wanakawastebusters.co.nz ($10 entry fee per team):
We have had some real close races over the last few years with some great laughs along the way. Last year a police team raced along with the usual suspects from Mitre 10, McGregor’s, and the Mint Bar. We are really looking forward to this year’s races.
Once again this year, the feature race will be a wheelie bin race for Workplace Teams (please register by email before the event: scotty@wanakawastebusters.co.nz or admin@wanakawastebusters.co.nz).
There will be a Rugby World Cup theme this year. Workplace teams can pick a world cup team and dress in those teams colours eg the Mitre Ten Tongan wheelie bin team.
There will also be wheelie bin races for kids (School Years 3-9), free entry, no registration necessary – just turn up on the day.
